Synopsis PAGES OF LIFE by L. E. Shaffer US Library of Congress Copyright: TXu 855-635
Pages of Life is L. E. Shaffer's first collection of poetry. From the eerie feel and emotion of The Northern Star to the title poem Pages of Life you follow a poet from childish beginnings to a haunting style that captures life itself. There is no form or method. There is only emotion. From dark to the light, from life to sheer fantasy each poem is a path to the mind. Come and grow with this poetic journey and enjoy where the evolution takes you.
About the Author L. E. Shaffer wrote poetry as a child, and it became a habit. It was something for others to read and admire, but mostly he just enjoyed writing about life, emotions, and the fantasies of the mind. Much of that childhood poetry is lost somewhere in Ohio now, but starting in 1970 the first poems of this collection started filling up a notebook. In 1998 this collection was finally published. Various other poems from the collection were published singly in various other poetry books. After 25 years in the US Navy, L. E. Shaffer now writes novels and poetry full time. He is also involved in publishing and helping other artists. L. E. Shaffer and his cats, Ebony and Abby, now live happily in the Florida Keys. View a Sample of This Work | Order This Work |
